DDC's national training program, Protecting Democracy Through Cybersecurity, was launched, with the generous support of Google, in the summer of 2021. By the end of 2021, DDC will have held 13 training sessions and more than 300 people have already registered to attend. upcoming sessions: DDC Nationwide Training Schedule

DDC can also provide cybersecurity training to organization or groups that works with candidates in anyway including recruiting and training to run for office, coalitions of political organizations, and other groups in the political sphere, including statewide groups, such as associations with high numbers of elected officials.   You can contact us at info@defendcampaigns.org or by clicking on the submit request on the upper right hand corner of this page.

 

The Agenda or Protecting Democracy Through Cybersecurity Includes:

The Agenda Includes:

  • Cybersecurity risk and how to assess it for your campaign, candidate or organization
  • Creating a culture of cybersecurity
  • Cybersecurity Fundamentals that should be on everyone’s list and How To Do Them
  • Working With What You Have: Increasing cybersecurity on commonly used platforms (Google, Office 365, and Social Media)

DDC's goals for the training are attendees will leave with:

  • Actionable information to immediately improve their personal and organizational cybersecurity.
  • A solid understanding of key cybersecurity practices for every campaign and organization
  • A clear understanding and ability to assess cybersecurity risk.

The training is for:

  • Anyone directly or indirectly involved in the campaign or election space, including:
  • Elected officials, candidates, and others planning to run for office
  • Campaign staffers and volunteers
  • Party officials and others that work at the state and local levels in parties
  • Representatives of Campaigns Organizations that work in the political environment, including vendors and consultants that work with campaigns.
