Unauthorized access to accounts is the biggest risk campaigns face.

Most of the big hacks and compromises you hear about in the news are a result of accounts being accessed through credentials being stolen or lost via phishing or other hacking techniques.

Once any account is compromised, bad actors can have access to vast amounts of documents, data, and other people’s accounts inside and outside the campaign or organization. Bad actors can engage in a broad array of activities by compromising accounts. These activities include leaking confidential and sensitive data, compromising other people associated with the campaign or candidate, stealing money, or conducting espionage.

The high value target of accounts and the significant damage that can be done when accounts are compromised makes account protection a core cybersecurity protection every campaign MUST implement.

The good news is that protecting accounts with the strongest cybersecurity available is easy and FREE. New forms of account protections called passkeys can make accounts virtually unphishable.

In this section of the Knowledge Base, we have information, including instructions, about implementing strong account security.
